Curaçao is an island in the Caribbean, among the group known as the ABC Islands alongside Aruba and Bonaire. One of the most notable things about the island is its culture. Curaçao has a lovely mix of Caribbean, European, and Latino culture. The streets and buildings have a European appearance, but the people, the food, the music and the colourful street markets have a distinctly Caribbean feel. Willemstad is the capital of Curaçao. Willemstad has a stunning old town. Many of the buildings were built in the colonial Dutch style in the early 18th century. The facades of these buildings are a kaleidoscope of colours ranging from pastel shades to vibrant blues, greens, reds, purples, jades, and buffs in a wide variety of shades.
