Seattle is a major coastal seaport and the seat of King County, in the state of Washington. Seattle lies on seven hills including Capitol Hill, First Hill, West Seattle, Beacon Hill, Magnolia, Denny Hill and Queen Anne. The Kitsap and the Olympic peninsulas along with the Olympic Mountains lie to the west of Puget Sound, while the Cascade Range and Lake Sammamish lie to the east of Lake Washington. An iconic feature of Seattle's skyline is the Space Needle. The view from the top is stunning with a revolving restaurant, undoubtedly Seattle's most famous landmark. Mount Rainier, towering over Seattle, is 50 miles from the city. There's a national park with camping and hiking activities. One of Seattle's most popular attractions is Pike Place Market. The farmer's market is over 100 years old and still maintains local flavour. The Seattle Aquarium showcases a wide variety of colourful marine species. Ketchikan is a city in and the borough seat of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough of Alaska. It is the state's southeasternmost major settlement. Downtown Ketchikan is a National Historic District. With a population at the 2010 census of 8,050, it is the fifth-most populous city in the state, and tenth-most populous community when census-designated places are included. The surrounding borough, encompassing suburbs both north and south of the city along the Tongass Highway (most of which are commonly regarded as a part of Ketchikan, albeit not a part of the city itself), plus small rural settlements accessible mostly by water, registered a population of 13,477 in that same census. US Census results put the 2019 population at 13,901 people. Incorporated on August 25, 1900, Ketchikan is the earliest extant incorporated city in Alaska, because consolidation or unification elsewhere in Alaska resulted in the dissolution of those communities' city governments. Ketchikan is located on Revillagigedo Island, so named in 1793 by Captain George Vancouver. Ketchikan is named after Ketchikan Creek, which flows through the town, emptying into the Tongass Narrows a short distance southeast of its downtown. "Ketchikan" comes from the Tlingit name for the creek, Kitschk-hin, the meaning of which is unclear. It may mean "the river belonging to Kitschk"; other accounts claim it means "Thundering Wings of an Eagle". In modern Tlingit, this name is Kichx̱áan.

The Hubbard Glacier is a glacier located in the Saint Elias Mountains in Alaska (United States) and in the Yukon Territory (Canada). From its origin in the Yukon Territory the glacier stretches 122 km to Disenchantment Bay and Yakutat Bay. That makes it the longest glacier in Alaska ending in the water, while its facade measures more than ten km. Before reaching the water, it is joined by the Valerie Glacier, which contributes, according to experts, an additional push that in the long term will lead to the definitive separation of Russell Fjord from Disenchantment Bay. In May 1986, and in the spring of 2002, this separation took place, however only for a couple of months, giving rise to Lake Russell. After in 1986 the flow of the fjord after the summer reached a level of 25 m above sea level, approx. At midnight on October 8, 1986, the water pressure managed to pierce the ice wall and the fjord was again united with the ocean.1 It was the second largest Jökulhlaup in recorded history.

Yokohama is a modern international port city replete with sightseeing spots and an exotic air traceable back to its historic opening as a port. The Yokohama Landmark Tower at 296 m is one of Japan's largest buildings and the centerpiece of the Minato Mirai 21 (MM21) development. Landmark Tower was completed in the early 1990s. There is a viewing gallery on the 69th floor - the Sky Garden, accessed by super-fast elevator, with excellent views on a clear day. Yokohama has a large number of other interesting museums and galleries, many connected with the history of the city as a port and a gateway between Japan and the world.
